New artists trying to make a name for themselves have always had the problem of exposure. How to get their art noticed and out there where the people are and get their art appreciated by thousands.  

 

One solution for many struggling artists has been graffiti art, which has been a huge phenomenon and contemporary artists work can be found on many walls in many cities around the world. Bansky is a well known example of this rise of street art.  The problem however for many artists is the legalities of spray painting the neighbours wall at 3 o clock in the morning!

 

New Art Originals.com online art gallery and 12 artists have come up with a solution: An exhibition of art on a 20×10ft billboard slap bang in the middle of London.

 

The exhibition will feature 12 images from the 12 artists and it’s expected 180,000 people will see the display over two weeks starting February 23^rd 2009.

 

The concept is to bring new original art to the masses not only into the eyes and minds of the public but also their homes as well. It is planned that there will be an exhibition each month across the capital so

Colours, Pictures and Personalities.

 

 

In 1666 Isaac Newton found that when light is passed through a prism, it separates into all of the visible colours. Ancient cultures such as the Egyptians practiced using colors to heal which is called Chromotherapy.

 

One of the most well known writers on the psychological effects of colour was a psychologist named Kurt Goldstein. Dr. Goldstein’s work was done in the 1950’s and early 1960’s. He wrote that in the course of life colours play their role. Each colour had a special importance and all colours together help to guarantee a normal life.

Pablo Picasso said: Colours, like features, follow the changes of the emotions. It follows that colourful artworks will have an influence on your emotions and mood.

So what colours and artworks would suit the personality of our famous celebrities?

 

Red – is the colour to stir up excitement especially at night!

 

Posh & Becks

Green – cools things down and suggests comfort and togetherness, also believed to help with fertility this is a great choice for the bedroom!

Purple – suggests luxury, creativity and sophistication.

Pink – is a comforter and calming, suggests the security of a mother.

Yellow – has the effect of energizing you with happiness, good vibes!

According to statistics British spenders will spend a whopping 1.6 Billion pounds on gifts for valentines day. With the numbers paying for the gifts online seems on the rise year on year apparently one in five shop for gifts online to avoid the crowds.

Recent survey suggests that over half of women in the UK  say that an ethical gift is important to them. so much so that over half would be unhappy if they knew that their gift had been made by people who had been treated unfairly.
