the NAO Awards followed by a 1 week exhibition of the best emerging artists worldwide.
Held at a 1500sqft over 2 floors of gallery space in Battersea London the event promises
to visualy stimulate, entertain and excite. The awards ceremony is followed by an awards
party with live Pa’s, music and Dj’s an event not to be missed.

new art originals.com scam alert we get so many clients contact us regarding the offers of exhibitions, gigs events by third parties. With so many scams out there it is important to be careful.
There are many reputable companies offering exhibition space, gigs etc, but unfortunately there are many rogues in the market place. Here are a few tips to stay safe.
1. Only deal with a genuine company! Yes it’s simple but with so many websites and emails out there it’s hard to tell so check the company register. In the UK it is Companies House and this is a government register of ALL genuine UK companies. Our registration number is 5955838
2. Use Paypal and your credit card. If something goes wrong you are covered using Paypal and your credit card. Never ever transfer money via Western Union or post cash ALWAYS use a secure payment method.
3. Check if the company has run any events before. Chances are if they have run a number of events in the past the gig is likeky to happen. A simple google search will reveal if the company has any listings in any Event Websites for example.
4. Call them up! Yes very simple but a simple phone call can reveal a lot. It’s good to talk!
5. Never post your art to ANYONE unless you can verify they are a real company see step 1
6. DO NOT rely on web forums. Scammers often hi jack web forums subtely promoting their services and denegrating genuine offers or companies. Only deal with companies you have checked YOURSELF!

With so many suspect offers and sites pooping sorry popping up it is important to suss out who the genuine ones are. We get so many concerns over companies in web forums. Please remember most of what is discussed in web forums is a personal opinion at best and complete rubbish at worst! So it is important you stay safe by only dealing with companies you have checked YOURSELF. If you follow these simple steps you are on the right track.
1. Always ask for a company registration number in the UK Companies House lists ALL genuine UK companies and a simple search will suss out who’s genuine. Ours is 5955838. Most foreign companies will have their own registration system too. If they are not registered STAY CLEAR!
2. Ask for a VAT number. Most established companies will have one of these. Ours is 906 1605 47. This is provided by Customs and Excise. Once again if the are not registered they may be ok but chances are they are either too small, inexperienced or a scam so STAY CLEAR!
3. Call them up. Yes it’s simple. If you can’t get a human being STAY CLEAR!
Incidently A New Art Scam alert was raised by a client recently regarding Web Forums .
The concern is over the Terms and conditions on these sites. Ok all sites must have a Terms and conditions by law.But some go to excessive lengths to have rights over your postings. That could mean literally giving away the rights to your artwork,opinions and writings! Be very careful. Here is an example from a well known web Forum (Shame on You!)
“You hereby expressly grant to xxx a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, world-wide, irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, edit, translate, perform, transmit, or otherwise distribute and display the Content on, in connection with, or to advertise, promote or archive the web site, and any future features & services for the xxx community, as is necessary for the operation & preservation of xxx & any future features & services for the xxx community, in any form, medium or technology now known or later developed. “
Ok so all websites need some rights over your content to resize images etc or edit innapropiate content. But once again be careful. Even when you are being faced with an apparently ‘free’ website there are pros and cons. You may be giving away the rights to the webmaster to create a big selling book, DVD, or video game. Incidently if a site has no terms and conditions guess what? STAY CLEAR!
Many of our clients are terrified of being scammed online. And we are constantly asked our opinion on suspected sites and scams so here are some tips. There are a number of ways to stay safe.

New artists trying to make a name for themselves have always had the problem of exposure. How to get their art noticed and out there where the people are and get their art appreciated by thousands.

Bansky is a well known example of this rise of street art.The problem however for many artists is the legalities of spray painting the neighbours wall at 3 o clock in the morning!
